Amsterdam Art Museums

As you will undoubtedly find out at some point during your visit, Amsterdam is a city brim-full with museums, however, it is the art museums that many people come for.

The Van Gogh Museum located on Paulus Potterstraat is an obvious choice for art lovers and houses the largest collection of Van Gogh's paintings in the world. Ditto the Rembrandt House on Jodenbreestraat if you are an admirer of his work.

The Rijksmuseum is another excellent choice for art and features a collection of works by Rembrandt (The Night Watch), Vermeer and Frans Hals as well as delftware, sculpture, Asian art and prints. This museum can be found on Jan Luijkenstraat.

For lovers of modern contemporary art, the Stedelijk Museum (currently housed in temporary accommodation) has a fascinating and ever changing range of exhibits from around the globe.
