Dam Square

Dam Square is widely regarded as the centre of Amsterdam. Located just a 5 minute walk from the Central Station, the red light district and the main shopping street, it holds an enviable position in the heart of the city.

Flanked by the Royal Palace (Koninklijk Paleis) the 15th century gothic style Nieuwe Kerk (new church), the National Monument and Madame Tussauds, it is where most tourists end up at some point or another.

Frequently used for public events and celebrations, it is a must-visit for anyone staying in Amsterdam.
