Schiphol Airport
Whilst not an obvious choice for a place to stay perhaps, there are some very good reasons why you might wish to stay at one of the many airport hotels at Schiphol.
The most obvious one is of course that it is very convenient when arriving and departing. Not so obvious is that there are some good bargains to be had - many of the hotels are mainly for business travellers meaning that at weekends (when business is quiet) some of the hotels will drop their rates. This means that a 4 or 5 star hotel could well be in your budget where it otherwise might not have been. And at just 20 minutes on the train to the central station in the heart of the city.
Good for:
Getting to and from the airport
Good access to the city centre with regular trains
Some good deals available at weekends
Not so good for:
Have to travel to get to the main tourist sites/ attractions
Lack of atmosphere
